Can I toot my own horn for a bit?
I'm in the class where part of the work is writing the first three chapters of the dissertation. It is very scary sometimes, and overwhelming.

Our first assignment was to do a prospectus, which is like a miniature version of the three chapters.

I just got my prospectus back, and this is what the prof. wrote to me:

"You have a near perfect prospectus here. I can see the thorough work y ou have put into this. Really good work and amazing study!"

Maybe I am smart enough to do this after all.....

thank you, People.

i was always chastised as a child for tooting my own horn (bragging, or getting a "swelled head")... it's very hard to share good news like this - brings up a lot of anxiety.

Well I doubt if your parents come here! So toot away! Your horn that is.

My parents paid no attention to my marks. However, I do remember a newcomer to my school. I was the only one who got a 100 in a math test. I was so excited and was telling people at recess. P shut me down as badly as my parents could.

That's really excellent mosaic! How many chapters are you aiming for? Like People said, it's doubtful your parents come here so toot away Smile

ah ok, similar here except we often have multiple Results chapters as there may be several sub-studies addressing different research questions. so great that you're doing this and good luck with the next steps!
