question about feeling?
I was wondering if caring about someone meant the same thing as love?
If it is then why are there 2 separate words and if it isn't then what is the difference?

RE: question about feeling?

RE: question about feeling?
agree with Unity, caring is about benevolence or compassion.

you can care about someone and be interested in their wellbeing without necessarily loving them (e.g. think of strangers you might choose to help or some FOO members you don't hate but perhaps don't love either).

We believe the attachment/bond involved in the act of loving varies within each relationships while caring is the capacity have concern for others regardless of the form or depth of attachment.

Agree with Adidac. And even with love there are different sorts. Agape love and all that jazz that we studied in a psych course a lifetime ago. I use the word studied loosely.

RE: question about feeling?
I never knew love existed until I fell deeply in love for the first time in my life about a year or so ago. I married him in February. Now, finally, at 58 years old I can attest to the fact that a) Love does truly exist and b) Caring for someone is quite different.

I hope that helps.
