Question about others

Ok here's a question, not sure if anyone knows but its burning in back of heard like Ive read something somewhere bout something butcant remember exactly.
Here goes:
When parts are inside, what do they do while others are out. ? Are they asleep until come out or do they do things inside. ? N just not remember when they come out.

If a child part wants to come out but not good idea at the time or u need to distract a part so they don't fully come out can u get them to do something inside?

Is there an inside world? Where the parts are when are not out in outside world?
I have this feeling, someone told me there is n tried to get me to go there. But he was bit dodgy I think so not sure how much was a suggestion thing n whether any of it was real.
