UPDATE: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security advised computer users to consider using alternatives to Microsoft Corp’s Internet Explorer browser until the company fixes a security flaw that hackers have used to launch attacks.

The United States Computer Emergence Readiness Team said in an advisory released on Monday morning that the vulnerability in versions 6 to 11 of Internet Explorer “could lead to the complete compromise of an affected system.”

etc. etc.

Thanks Tweeter! Very Helpful. My tech person is not all that fond of IE anyway and for some reason mine stopped working quite some time ago. When he fixed the computer he put Google as my home page and Firefox as my alternative.

Yup, IE hasn't won any popularity contests lately that I know of. Haven't liked it since IE6. Mozilla Firefox is my primary browser, but I have Windows laptops (XP; 8.1) and they come with IE. Yahoo is my home page, and Google my search engine.
