Birthday

Tomorrow, January 4th, 2014, the body will turn 52. We've decided to follow The People's lead and acknowledge ourselves on our birthday.

For those who don't know us well, our system has no host, and our oldest member is 25. None of us age with the body; age changes are very infrequent and based only on the inner circumstances of those involved.

Today we are home from work because of the snowstorm (six to eight inches here) that has brought the northeastern U.S. to a standstill. It's good to have off, because when our office closes, the time doesn't get charged to us.

Our landlord has shoveled the walks, but we had to remind him to also shovel the front stoop, or we/MDs can't get out of the house. After he's done, we're going to clean the snow off our car and then move the car out of the driveway and back to where we usually park.

Our plan for tomorrow has been a mix of the usual and a low-key celebration. The second of our two brothers lives with our father, about 15 minutes away from us. Our first brother lives in the Boston area, where they apparently got more than twice as much snow as we did. He and his wife have two girls, ages 14 and a half and 11. Brother #1 sent us a "Maxine" birthday card. He's always believed that we remind him of Maxine, and we agree.

So tomorrow, our plan is to take our father to his regular T appointment, and at lunchtime, we will go with him and brother #2 to a local diner. That's as much celebrating as we're interested in doing.
