what's coming up for me

i'm in my last week of break between semesters. i'm close to counting down to the end of official coursework, and then comes the real challenges... comprehensive exams (written and oral), proposal defense, review board approval and then research, writing the dissertation and defending it.

i think i'll just focus on classwork for now. if i look at all the stuff i need to do after, i overwhelm myself.
