Our new PC has Windows 8 and IE10. Whenever we try to save a webpage, we get an error message: "This webpage could not be saved." It has no option other than "OK."
We looked on Microsoft Support and saw that a couple of other people had this problem, but we didn't find a helpful answer.
We can save webpages in Firefox, but we prefer to save them in IE because there seems to be less extraneous code. But we guess we'll have to use FF unless someone has an answer about IE.

As you know, I'm utterly clueless, having not used IE much since IE6.
However, I found a four-page article which may or may not be of help to you, one way or another, from PC Magazine. I can't even read it. You might consider writing to the author. The four links are to the four pages.

The MS developer blog article summarizes everything we hate about both Windows 8 and IE10. Ptooie.
We don't have a smartphone, and we never touch our puter screen, not even now when it's touch-enabled. MS and its minions are trying to make desktop puters into giant smarphones, IOO.
And we can't stand what they call "metro-style browsing," which is pseudo-full-screen and without windows. Everything that they tout as making browsing better makes it worse for us.
Stepping off soapbox for the moment. But we'll step right back on if given provocation.
