The Queen's Diamond Jubilee - little monkies - 06-04-2012 We are celebrating the Diamond jubilee of our magnificent Queen Elizabeth. Wish we could post a Union Jack but it's far too complicated for us God Save The Queen. Long may she reign ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rosie RE: The Queen's Diamond Jubilee - mosaic - 06-04-2012 from what we've seen on this side of the pond, it looks to be a magnificent celebration! Oh Mosaic, it is. Tonight they held a concert outside Buckingham Palace and there were thousands of people. I am always moved by thousands of people in The Mall, all the way up to the palace, waving flags and singing the National Anthem. Tomorrow is a carriage procession and thousands outside Buckingham Palace again. Sadly Prince Philip hs been taken ill, but he is nearly 91 years old and stood in the rain yesterday. I must say, we do it well Rosie ![]() RE: The Queen's Diamond Jubilee - nats - 06-11-2012 we went to the Thames and saw the boats! didn't manage the other events in person but the boats were impressive! Wow, did you see the Queen? We saw it all on TV. You must have been soaked to the skin. So you didn't stand outside Buck House on the Tuesday then? We are going to another Jubilee celebration this Friday. Went to a garden party at the weekend, except the host held it in the house because of the weather and we went to a Jubilee service. You know us Brits don't do flag waving often, but when we do it, we do it in style. By the way the Olympic torch passes our house on Friday, all interesting moments historical moments in the making. ![]() RE: The Queen's Diamond Jubilee - nats - 06-12-2012 we got there right as the queen's boat passed and it was much too crowded to see anything, but as soon as she'd left so did most spectators so we got a front row view of the rest - fortunately from under the trees so minimal rain! |
