A Nice Phone Message - The People - 08-22-2018
I think that I have mentioned my senior friends previously. My first friends when I moved to the city. The husband has advanced Alzheimer's and is now in care.
I had promised to visit regularly and last night I called and told her that I was bringing supper over.
She was in a good mood when we visited. Laughing over things like my walking on the water from the ice cubes that I dropped.
This morning, while my phone was still turned off I got a phone call. She stated that yesterday was her anniversary so I could tell people that I spent the evening celebrating her 62 anniversary. She was so happy! It made me feel good.

It really was. People made a big fuss over it but it is just how I roll. I find (and have read) that to give out makes us feel better within. It varies for others I think. I have a friend who is trying to figure out her charity of choice. Pick me pick me! Seriously, it is best to choose something that we connect with.
It doesn't have to be financial. I am so excited that my volunteer shifts at the cancer clinic start in Sep. I lost a sister and a friend like a sister to lung cancer and have had friends with cancer. So it pleases me to push the cookie cart around and make people smile during a harsh moment.
