What Happened to Spring? - MakersDozn - 05-10-2014

Today in the NYC area it got up to 82F (28C). With over 50% humidity. Factor in certain female stuff, and for us it's a triple-whammy setup for a migraine.

We had our landlord put in our AC late this afternoon. Makes a ton of a difference.

Everyone help themselves to ice cream, ices, and other cool treats.

Hi, hope you're feeling better now.

Spring got bored, and became summer. It's been building, like legos, for some time. All of a sudden, it's like almost nothing is as it was, and it doesn't feel very good. But, sipping iced tea does feel good. Thanks.

Glad that the iced tea helped. Migraine was a tough one. More in our blog--click link below.

Awaiting the end of the heat wave.

Yeah, well if that bird were here, he'd be in scuba gear and slathering himself with SPF 30. Undecided

It should be cooler for at least the rest of the week, with the rains, but I'm expecting one of those fry-an-egg-on-the-pavement summers.
I did trot over to the land of blog. Good job! I'm not a Twitter person though.
Some years back, I had considered having a blog, and whether to permit outside comments. I decided against opening up the airwaves. Figured I'd put my foot in my beak within 24 hrs. But, if I had gone thru with it, it would have been my voice alone, indefinitely. I still feel that way.

Glad you like the blog. It's helping us keep some semblance of our brand of sanity. We have to be disciplined enough to write every day in order for it to do us any good.

We've been sneezing (right nostril only) since yesterday. Dunno why. We don't have allergies to speak of. May trot over to WebMD and see what we can find out.

Did a youngster stick something in it?

The People's idea is an interesting possibility. As for inner swelling unrelated to it: you feeling any pressure or fullness on left side (forehead, between eyes, and/or from side of nose to left cheek)? It doesn't have to be painful. I get unilateral symptoms sometimes. I have a deviated septum which can give rise to this. My remedy is a hot (not excessively so) compress (wet washcloth). I generally follow order of application from forehead to cheek, separately. An indication that this is working is a sudden release of postnasal drip. Head position is forward with chin dropped some.
Another is the taking of the vapors. While filling bathroom sink with hot water, put a couple of drops of fragrant oils in water (Eucalyptus, peppermint, rosemary). Eucalyptus alone can do it. make a head tent with a towel over the sink, close eyes and breathe.

Well, we now know that it's definitely a cold. The Claritin we bought yesterday (took only one pill) is of little to no use now. After our pdoc appointment this afternoon, we're gonna get a package of those pseudoephedrine pills that you have to show your license to buy.

Thanks,

The pseduoe. pills helped a great deal. Unfortunately, the Mets are embarrassing the Yankees for the second night in a row. Shrug.

After two nights in the Bronx, the 2014 Subway Series will move to Flushing. May we do to them what they did to us.

Well had to turn on our conditioner today after we got it set up. This is ridiculous..going from having the heat on to a week later putting the air on.
MDs hope you feel better soon.....sending some chicken noodle soup and a box of Kleenex Smile

Greetings! I'm happy that you got rapid relief. That bodes well for a speedy departure from a viral state of being. (This taken from: The Metaphysics of the Common Cold. A Nonexistent Volume.)

Yeah, Girardi had had it. I just saw that on late-night sports. Saw one Met hit a pitch like he was scooping it out of the air with invisible Lacrosse equipment, and tossing it. I think a homer resulted. It was a poor quality pitch. Way below pro level. them's the breaks.
